Membership of the Expert Advisory Committee on Blood Regulations and the National Blood Safety Council

Introduction

Effective July 17th, 2003, the National Blood Safety Council (NBSC) and the Expert Advisory Committee on Blood Regulation were consolidated into one body. The National Blood Safety Council (NBSC) was responsible for advising the Minister and the Expert Advisory Committee on Blood Regulation is responsible for advising the department on matters pertaining to blood safety in Canada.

The Expert Advisory Committee on Blood Regulation will continue to provide ongoing technical and scientific advice to Health Canada. Dr. Noni E. MacDonald of Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia will remain as the Committee's Chair. Selected NBSC members will be invited to join the Expert Advisory Committee. Listed below, as a reference, are the members of both the Expert Advisory Committee on Blood Regulations and the National Blood Safety Council (NBSC).

The Expert Advisory Committee on Blood Regulations is comprised of the following members:
