International Day of Disabled Persons
International Day of Disabled Persons is December 3. Communities around the province will recognize this day with activities like wheelchair basketball games, trade and art shows and comedy presentations.

Mobile Dental Clinics for Long-term Care Residents
Two new mobile dental clinics will bring on site dental services to long-term care residents throughout the province.

Seniors' Centres Survey
The Seniors Advisory Council for Alberta and the Alberta Council on Aging are using a survey to gather information on seniors’ centres.

Rural Affordable Supportive Living Program
Alberta Seniors and Community Supports will provide capital funding to promote the development of affordable supportive living developments in rural municipalities.

Albertans Recognized for Service to Seniors
Five individuals and three Alberta organizations have been recognized for their outstanding commitment and volunteer service on behalf of seniors at the ninth annual Minister's Seniors Service Awards.

Provincial Surplus Helps Create More Housing in Rural Alberta
Albertans will benefit significantly from $140 million in provincial funding that will support the development or upgrading of approximately 4,200 supportive living, affordable housing and seniors housing units.

The Community Support Systems Division focuses on advancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities and promoting the safety of vulnerable adults who receive government-funded care services.
