The Petrotech Conferences and Exhibitions have been conducted from 1995 onwards. Initially, in 1995, India organised a biennial international conference to demonstrate her resolve to integrate herself into the process of liberalization and be a known player in the field. This was ogranized again in 1997. These two conferences were organized by ONGC. With the promotion of actvities of the Petrotech Society, from 1999, all successive conferences and exhibitions have been organized by Petrotech Society under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India with the support from ONGC and IOC.
