What's new ...

We've changed our name to better reflect our work and our place within Health Canada.
We are now:

Injury Section
Division of Health Surveillance and Epidemiology
Centre for Healthy Human Development
Population & Public Health Branch
Health Canada

The Injury Section introduces Suzanne Lapensée as our Administrative Assistant. Suzanne worked previously with the Child Maltreatment Section in our Division. Welcome aboard!

We were fortunate to recently host co-op students from the University of Waterloo, Kinesiology Program: Tracey Selst returned a second time from September to December 2001 and Jenny Stewart from January to April 2002. They worked diligently with the section's analysts on several projects. This summer, we welcomed Lisa Stanley as our student. Lisa completed the second year of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, and she worked with the analysts on updating CHIRPP reports.

Another fond welcome to Robin Skinner, who has been with us part-time since the beginning of this year. Robin is working as an analyst on several surveillance projects and research studies.

Farewell and a great big thank you to Dr. Ouimet for all the work done as CHIRPP Director at Hôpital Sainte-Justine, Montreal. We extend a warm hello to Dr. Antonio D'Angelo, new CHIRPP Director.

Congratulations – Tammy Lipskie (analyst, Injury Section), husband Mike and son Vince are proud to announce the birth of Reese, a healthy baby boy!
