First Nations and Inuit health service organizations need human resource policy and guidance to help their employees manage the health services that they provide to their members.
Health Canada offers these links to sites that provide resources in support of human resource management, programs and services for First Nations and Inuit organizations managers, leaders and employers.

- Helping You Helps Me: A Guide Book For Self-Help Group is a booklet you can order that is aimed at people who want to start new self-help groups, or who want to improve the way their own group works.
- How to Choose a Consultant: A Resource for your Community or Organization fact sheet gives you basic information to help you and your organization make the best use of a consultant.
- How You Can Be an Effective Leader Fact Sheet gives you many tips on how to be a good leader, including how to analyze the various leadership styles and use them to your advantage.
- Human Resource Guidelines for the Management of First Nations and Inuit Health Programs (2000) will help you if you are a First Nations and Inuit organization developing personnel policies for the first time or reviewing your policies as the new health team blends into the community's existing workforce. The guidelines are presented within the context of Health Services Transfer, but much of the content is applicable to any workplace. You will learn about writing job descriptions and determining what to pay people for doing a given job.

- Legislated Successor Rights is a specific section within the Human Resource Guidelines for the Management of First Nations and Inuit Health Programs (2000) that tells you, the employer, what your responsibilities are with respect to the union membership and collective bargaining agreements of existing employees.

- Aboriginal Leadership Training Institute offers traditional courses and workshops. The Institute also offers the Aboriginal Awareness Certificate course online.
