The CIHR Institute of Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes (CIHR-INMD) and Health Canada on behalf of the National Diabetes Surveillance System (NDSS), a multi-sectorial partnership, are pleased to announce the results of the competition under the strategic initiative on "Diabetes Surveillance System Grant".
The program was designed to encourage linkage of the NDSS data with other clinical, administrative or survey data as well as to enhance our understanding of the impact of diabetes mellitus on the health care system and on the health of Canadians.
A total of seven applications were submitted (July 2002) and subsequently reviewed by an ad hoc peer review committee. Two of the seven applications were approved for a success rate of 29%.
