7.01 CHE Report

A report was given on the activities of the CHE and items emerging from its last meeting.

An update was given on CCME's and Environment Canada's activities related to water.

7.03 Provincial-Territorial Subcommittee on Plumbing Codes/Canadian Advisory Committee on Plumbing Report

A report was given on the meetings of these two committees.

Decision/Action:

  • For information

7.04 Certification Body Reports

Representatives from the certification bodies reported on their activities and answered questions about certification processes and product recalls. Members asked about the process for setting the standards that are used in certification processes, particularly in relation to the achievability of the proposed guideline for arsenic.

Decision/Action:

  • Secretariat to send members the 2003 survey for feedback by December 15, 2005.

8.0 Members' Reports

Each jurisdiction provided a report on its program and legislative activities, training and outreach programs, publications and current key issues. Alberta has developed a questionnaire for the other jurisdictions to complete regarding their drinking water legislation.

  • Members to make hotel reservations for Saint John ASAP

  • Secretariat to confirm dates of May 2007 meeting with Ontario.
