7. Working Out Operational Details

7.1 Developing a schedule

Set a date and assign a person to be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Finalizing audience analysis
  • Adjustments to program/products/services, etc...
  • Positioning and message development
  • Pre-testing positioning and messages
  • Finalizing message delivery
  • Forming partnerships
  • Implementation (planning and execution of each activity as well as production of materials)
  • Evaluation

7.2 Establishing a budget

The following list will help you draw up a budget.

Expenses:

  • Management/consultations/committees
  • Research and evaluation
  • Media activities
  • Events
  • Training of influencers
  • Print or other material
  • Mailing and distribution
  • Other
  • Contingencies (10% of the above)
  • Applicable taxes

Revenues:

  • Your organization
  • Governments
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Individual donations (employees, members, others)
  • Foundations/service clubs
  • Private-sector companies
  • Other
