Supplementary Services Postal Money Orders

A Postal Money Order is a secured cashable document, guaranteed by Canada Post, which is used to transfer funds anywhere in Canada and to most countries.

The service guarantee offers free replacement of lost or destroyed money orders and/or photocopies of paid money orders upon enquiry from the purchaser.

Postal Money Orders can be purchased by consumers and businesses, and constitute a guaranteed payment. They may be purchased in Canadian dollars, U.S. dollars and British pounds. They can be used to complete financial or retail transactions.

Postal Money Orders can be sent to most countries in the world. To several countries, customers may send Canadian Postal Money Orders in Canadian, U.S. or British funds directly. To other countries there is an advice system, meaning that CPC will forward the amount to the recipient in the local currency via the respective Postal Administration. Please consult the Postal Guide to determine availability and conditions of money orders to specific destinations.

The maximum value of a single Postal Money Order is $999.99 (Canadian and U.S. dollars) and £100.00. (British currency). The fee is $3.95 for a Canadian Postal Money Order. Different rates apply for U.S./International Postal Money Orders.
