Klinic Community Health
Centre is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We are a member
of Manitoba Association of Community Health. We provide a full range of
health related services from medical care to counselling to education.
We promote health and quality of life for all. We help people make choices
about their own health. We address the special needs of our neighborhoods
and help communities organize on issues of concern. We look to our community
for direction. We provide confidential services.

Klinic is engaged in a significant
and ambitious fundraising initiative. We are privileged to have
the support of an anonymous donor who is committed to matching our fundraised
resources dollar for dollar to a maximum of $300,000. We have to date realized $220,000 of this
generous gift. Our deadline to
raise these funds was April 30th, 2006, however the donor has
provided us with an extension to August 2007. We are soliciting
personal and corporate charitable donations as well as holding a number
of events in support of this fantastic opportunity.
Events
planned for the future are as follows:
Due to the tremendous success of the March social, planning is underway
for another Klinic Social – The Sequel – on Saturday, November
4th, again at The Copa. Tickets $10 – Mark this date
on your calendars and plan to Come Dancing!
Another Spring Fling is being planned for the April 28th,
2007 – pencil in this date and keep a lookout for further details.
As
well, plans are underway with local celebrities for a Benefit Concert
to be held sometime in 2007 – keep your eyes peeled for information
on what is likely to be the social event of the season!
Come
out in support of a good cause! Have some fun with the good folks
from Klinic Community Health Centre.
Events
held to date are as follows:
The
eclectic and diverse “COOKIN’ WITH KLINIC” cookbook is on sale
for the low low price of $10. It is jam-packed with delicious,
easy to make recipes submitted entirely by staff and volunteers of
the Agency, and is getting rave reviews in the community.
The
first run of the cookbook (500 copies) has sold out and another 500 copies
have arrived. To date 570 cookbooks have been sold – translating into
$11,400!
There
are still plenty of cookbooks available!
On Saturday, March 11 Klinic held an old fashioned Manitoba Social
– “KLINIC AT THE COPA” – which was hugely successful. The
evening was filled with fabulous silent auction prizes, great music
and dancing with none other than DJ Lori B. The social
raised over $6,000 in revenue – translating into over $12,000!
On Saturday April 29 a Gala Dinner and Dance – Klinic Spring Fling
– was held at The Fairmont Hotel. This event raised approximately
$16,000 towards our goal – translating into $32,000!

Public
Internet access is available for free at Klinic Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
This access is provided through a joint effort between Klinic and the
Community Connections
Program.
