The recognition process determines the software's accuracy in sorting address file(s) according to the Presortation Technical Specifications. SERP is open to in-house or commercial software developers who want their software programs recognized by Canada Post Corporation. Mailers with recognized software may take advantage of presort incentive rates.
Letter Carrier Presort, Addressed Admail and Publications Mail LCP and Incentive Lettermail high density and low density presort, are a batch process that assigns the correct delivery mode details to each address and in turn sequences, groups, provides label information for groupings, sequences the groupings within containers, and provides label information for containers.
Canada Post has implemented new technology and business processes to better track and monitor mailings from order creation to container destination processing points. Barcode Recognition is now a part of our software recognition program. In January 2004, changes were made to Canada Post's Electronic Shipping Tool which, when combined with changes to presort software, will enable Addressed Admail Letter Carrier Presort mailers to access information about their mailings through the On-Line Business Centre on our website.
This tracking capability will be launched on the new "Track a Mailing" site in July 2004.
