On October 16, 1981, the Canada Post Corporation Act received Royal Assent, transforming the post office department into a crown corporation. The successes we have realized over the past 25 years could not have occurred without tremendous contributions from throughout our workforce. We are all proud of our transformation from a government department to a customer-oriented, responsible employer of over 70,000 people, as well as a financially self-sufficient organization. This is an important milestone for all of us as we celebrate our 25th anniversary!
