Change of leadership for Canada Command

MA #06.001 - May 18, 2006

OTTAWA – Media are invited to attend the Change of Command ceremony for Canada Command on Friday, May 19.  Lieutenant-General Marc Dumais will assume the command of Canada Command from Vice-Admiral Jean-Yves Forcier, who is retiring from the Canadian Forces.

The Chief of the Defence Staff, General Rick Hillier, will preside over the ceremony.

Details are as follows.

• When: Friday, May 19 at 11:00 a.m.
• Where: Cartier Square Armouries, 4 Queen Elizabeth Dr., Ottawa
• Media Opportunities: Lieutenant-General Dumais will be available to answer media queries after the hour-long ceremony.
