UXO Locations in Canada

If you see a suspicious object

 Welcome & Introduction

Welcome to the DND Unexploded Explosive Ordnance (UXO) and Legacy Sites Program Web site.

UXO is the term for military explosives prepared for action - and used - but that remain unexploded. UXO creates a safety risk wherever it exists.

If This Is an Emergency

If you have found something that might be an unexploded device:

  • Don't touch or disturb it in any way.
  • Note the location of the object and leave the area.
  • Call your local emergency number (in most cases this will be 9-1-1), and ask for the police. Do not use a cell phone near UXO; it may cause it to explode.
  • Report what you have found, and where you found it.
  • Follow any instructions you may be given by the police.
