Mrs Patricia Sauvé-McCuan

Mrs Sauvé-McCuan was born and raised in Ottawa. She attended the University of Ottawa & followed her university degree with a Chartered Accountant designation.

Her professional career brings together a blend of private & public sector experiences, with expertise in operational, financial and information management.

Mrs Sauvé-McCuan began her career within the public accounting realm, spending 4 years in the Ottawa office of Thorne Riddell. She then spent 6 years with a large Insurance Company with roles within the Audit & Corporate Financial Reporting Teams. Mrs Sauvé-McCuan then began an 8-year period with the Federal Public Service.

Her first public sector role was within the Chief Review Services here at the Department of National Defence. Subsequently she became the Assistant Director of Finance for the Senate of Canada, followed by the Director of Finance for the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. She held the position of A/Director General of Corporate Services when she left the Councils in 1998.

In 1998, Mrs Sauvé-McCuan returned to the private sector holding the role of Account Executive with DMR Consulting. She soon became a consultant, specializing in Procurement and Financial Management Advisory Services for the Federal Government. In 2000 she joined CogniCase Ottawa Ltd, as the Vice-President for Delivery Services, and in 2001 she became the Senior Vice-President responsible for the operations of the Ottawa Office. Her most recent position was as Vice-President with R3D Information and Technology, an organization specializing in Project, Program and Business Program Management Services.

In September 2004, Mrs Sauvé-McCuan returned to the Federal Government and took on the role of Director General, Information Management Project Delivery (DGIMPD). In this capacity, Mrs Sauvé-McCuan was responsible for leading all capital IM projects (applications and infrastructure) and for oversight of all DND/CF IM projects during development and implementation.

On 7 March 2006, Mrs Sauvé-McCuan was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister, Information Management and is responsible for providing the leadership, products and services needed to manage information as a corporate resource essential to the success of the mission and objectives of the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces.

Mrs Sauvé-McCuan currently resides in Stittsville, ON with her husband, 2 children, 2 cats & 2 dogs.
