Combat Readiness Operation:

CRO is an annual exercise designed to advance operational readiness by exercising the Task Group concept in a series of warfare scenarios. The exercise typically involves both Canadian and American personnel, and takes place on the eastern United States. It aims to help Canadian and American forces integrate land, sea and air components into one cohesive, functioning unit.

Off the coast of Vancouver Island, the annual TGEX is part of a continuing series of fleet training exercises, the aim of which is to develop unit-level and multi-unit proficiency in all areas of maritime warfare. Typically, a mock scenario will be draw up and involved participants, which includes Canadians and in the past has included Americans, will use their skills to successfully navigate through the challenge.
