The formation took place during a (RAS) Replenishment at sea, followed by manouvers. HMCS Ottawa's crewmembers replace 20 mm Tungsten ammunition in the close in weapons system (CIWS), while patrolling the Arabian Gulf region in support of Operation APOLLO. Operation APOLLO is Canada's military contribution to the international campaign against terrorism.
