The March 2004 go-ahead by Treasury Board for CFHA to plan and implement a multi-year, countrywide program of housing renewal for the Canadian Forces (CF) reflects the importance that the Department of National Defence (DND) and the CF place on improving the quality of life of CF personnel and their families.

The CFHA plan now being developed will address both the condition and size of the CF housing portfolio. The goal is to develop and maintain a sustainable housing portfolio that meets the housing needs of CF members and their families, now and into the future.

This site is a resource for CF members and their families who are interested in CFHA’s on-going work to modernize housing on Bases and Wings throughout the country. Its purpose is to:

• Provide background information that will place the Rationalization Program in context;
• Describe what the program entails;
• Explain the approvals and governance process;
• Draw attention to the many opportunities ahead for CF members to provide their views to the CFHA in on-base consultation sessions; and
• Keep you up to date on recent developments – and those soon to come.
