Organization Overview

The IM Group is a multi-faceted organization that is headquartered in Ottawa as part of National Defence Headquarters (NDHQ). It is organized into four Divisions, two Formations, and a number of field units. The Divisions are located in Ottawa, while the field units are located across the country. The two Formations are the Canadian Forces Information Operations Group (CFIOG) and the Communications Reserve (Comm Res). Both Formation Headquarters are also in Ottawa while they have units located across the country.

The Group is headed by the Assistant Deputy Minister (Information Management) (ADM (IM)) who is responsible for leading the Group and for ensuring that it meets its various responsibilities. The ADM (IM) is supported by a Chief of Staff who is responsible for coordinating the IM Group staff functions.
