Responsibilities
The Information Management Group is responsible for delivering and maintaining products and services to meet the information needs of its clients and to contribute to the success of the mission and defence objectives of Department of National Defence (DND)/Canadian Forces (CF) though its support:
- Operating and sustaining information, data, voice and other communications capabilities to globally deployed CF Commanders and Defence users.
- Developing and sustaining the enterprise wide information and data applications in support of CF Commanders and Defence users.
- Implementing new information, data, voice and other communication solutions in response to the operational and business requirements of CF Commanders and Defence users.
- Sustaining project management and engineering expertise to deliver smart customer support related to information, data, voice and other communications capabilities to CF Commanders and Defence users.
- Assisting CF Commanders and Defence users in defining their information, data, voice and other communications requirements.
- Developing policies and strategies to sustain and guide Defence information, data, voice and other communication capabilities, enterprise information architecture development and related investments in support of CF Commanders and Defence users.
- Directing research and development towards information acquisition, exploitation and protection capabilities in support of CF Commanders and Defence users.
- Conducting assigned information operations and computer network defence in support of CF Commanders and Defence users, including Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and assigned Electronic Warfare (EW) activities.
- Generating and sustaining a combat ready Communication Reserve in support of CF Commanders and Defence users.
