150 personnel and three Hercules aircraft are located in the
Arabian Gulf Region
with the TAL Det in support of Op APOLLO, Canada's military contribution
to the US-led Campaign Against Terrorism. As part of their role
in the region, the TAL members deliver supplies and military
cargo in Kandahar on a regular basis. Canadian and American military
members are seen here unloading some cargo from the back of a
CC-130 Hercules transport aircraft in Kandahar.

Buglar, from 14 Wing Greenwood, a member of the Op Apollo Long-Range
Patrol Detachment (LRP Det) washes a CP-140 Aurora aircraft while
performing a corrosion control inspection. The mission of the
LRP Det is to work with the US Navy 5th Fleet to deliver reconnaissance
and surveillance support to the US-led maritime coalition forces.

He uses a check list during maintenance work on the chaff and
flares systems on the aircraft. The mission of the TAL Det
is to support coalition forces by transporting military personnel,

The E-3A is an airborne warning and control system (AWACS) aircraft
with a rotating radar dome that provides all-weather surveillance,
command, control and communications needed by commanders of NATO
and other allied air defense forces. It is the premier air battle
command and control aircraft in the world today. |

Quirion, a technician with 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron (Edmonton),
undergoes training prior to firing the M-72 light antitank weapon
at the ranges in Wainwright, Alberta. 408 Sqn is part of the
approximately 4,600 Canadian Forces members are participating
in the first major army training exercise of the 21st Century,
from April 7 to May 2, 2003 in Wainwright, Alta.
After two years of planning, co-operation, strategic resource management,
and with assistance from the Air Force, the Army has created Exercise
RESOLUTE WARRIOR. Fourteen combat and support units are training
together in a multi-element combat environment in preparation for
potential and upcoming high readiness tasks at home and abroad.
