Triple-Vehicle Accident in Afghanistan - During a Combat Logistics Patrol in Afghanistan, a Bison vehicle under tow rolled backwards when the pintle hook failed, damaging a Super Heavy Logistics Wheeled Vehicle (SHLVW). But it wasn't an accident - the SHLVW driver intentionally blocked the Bison. This prevented the loss of the Bison and likely saved the lives of two Canadian soldiers.
DND/CF Multicultural Calendar 2006
On November 13, 2002, the Government of Canada, by Royal Proclamation, designated June 27 of each year as Canadian Multiculturalism Day.

New Canadian Forces operational commands take charge of domestic, special and international operations
OTTAWA - January 31, 2006
In a ceremony presided over this morning by General Rick Hillier, Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), command of all CF operations was transferred from the Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff (DCDS) to Canada Command, Canadian Expeditionary Force Command, Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, and Canadian Operational Support Command. The new commands assume management of and responsibility for all operations as of February 1, while the DCDS Group dissolves on the same date.
