Defence Plan On-lineThe Defence Plan On-line (formerly the Defence Plan and Defence Planning Guidance) is the internal DND/CF Business Plan for execution in the upcoming fiscal year and it also provides planning guidance for the subsequent three years. It assigns tasks and initiatives to senior managers, describes horizontal priorities, displays high-level force structure and includes resource allocations. The Defence Plan was made available exclusively on-line for the first time as Defence Plan 02/03. In this format, it uses a variety of web-enabled database technologies to deliver enhanced functionality to individual users, who are now able to customize the displayed information to meet their own needs. A printing capability has also been included to allow local reproduction. The timing of this internal Defence Plan is harmonized with the early March release in Parliament of the external Report on Plans and Priorities (RPP) and the Estimates. Defence Plan 2001This Defence Plan 2001 is a plan of execution for 2001-02 and a guide for business planning for the period 2002/03 to 2004/05. It is aligned with the annual Report on Plans and Priorities 2001/02 that was tabled in Parliament in March 2001. These two documents should be read in concert. The Defence Planning Guidance will no longer be issued in its previous form. Defence Planning Guidance 2001 - issued on April 11, 2000 - remains in effect for the original planning period but where discrepancies arise, this document, the Defence Plan 2001, takes precedence. Defence Plan 2001 is a transitional document intended to serve as a bridge to the new annual planning process that is being developed this year. Defence Planning Guidance (DPG)DPGs for previous years are provided for reference |
