![]() Chief Petty Officer (2nd Class) Larry SchneiderIn recognition of exceptional skill in solving problems and resolving complaints, thereby contributing to the well-being of the DND/CF community, Chief Petty Officer (2nd Class) is awarded the first annual Commendation for Complaint Resolution of the Ombudsman for the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces. CPO 2 Schneider has provided excellent cooperation with the Ombudsman's Office in finding prompt, informal and even innovative solutions to members' problems. During his more than 30 years of service in the Canadian Forces, his genuine interest in, and commitment to, the welfare of junior members has made him 'a champion of the troops'. Consistently responsive and resourceful, CPO 2 Schneider has made a significant contribution, especially by taking a creative approach to problem-solving. When organizational decisions have had unintended impact on soldiers and their families, he has not allowed bureaucratic obstacles to prevail over fairness, but instead has found ways for the system to accommodate and respect the human element. The Ombudsman for the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces salutes and commends CPO 2 Schneider's exemplary initiative and commitment. |
