Operation CROCODILE

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and five regional States signed the Lusaka Ceasefire Agreement in July 1999 for a cessation of hostilities between all belligerent forces. To maintain liaison with the parties and carry out other tasks, the United Nations Security Council set up on 30 November 1999 the Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC).

Operation CROCODILE is Canada's contribution to the United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC). Members of the Canadian contingent work as staff officers at MONUC headquarters in Kinshasa and at the sector headquarters in Kisangani.
