DLM · Military Civilian Training Accreditation Programme (MCTAP)
About the Programme
The Military Civilian Training Accreditation Program (MCTAP) is an ongoing accreditation program, that seeks accreditation of military training with the appropriate provincial technical, academic and professional licensing bodies in an effort to obtain formal civilian recognition of military training and experience.
Accreditation Bodies
To date we have been successful in having many of our programs accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB) and College Ahuntsic. The CTAB accredits technology and applied science programs towards the Technician and Technologist designation while College Ahuntsic assesses a wide range of CF training towards college level credits.
In the summer of 2006, four accreditation contracts were awarded for the review of courses and military occupations for academic credit. The contracts run until 2008 and have been awarded to Seneca College, College Ahuntsic, Tele Universite and University of Manitoba. Click here for more information.
Red Seal Programme
We are currently developing a Red Seal accreditation program that will seek to align CF military trades with the 44 Red Seal trades. Visit our Links section for information about the Red Seal Programme and a link to their website.
Canadian Forces Equivalency Database (CFED)
The Canadian Forces Equivalency Database Search Interface is a database-driven web application which allows Internet users to search for information about equivalencies between civilian and military training. Equivalencies granted under the Canadian Forces Military Equivalencies Program (CFMEP) and the Military Civilian Training Accreditation Program (MCTAP) are stored in the database.
