AMERICAN ABORIGINAL CAMPAIGNS
Buffalo Soldiers
Era: 19 th century.
Situation: The American West in the late 1870s and early 1880s focuses on the operations to subdue the Apache Victorio and his band by Buffalo Soldiers (former slaves and other African-Americans who served in the 9 th and 10 th Cavalry Regiments of the United States cavalry). Although troopers of the 9 th and 10 th participated in operations against the Apache, it is uncertain if either regiment was responsible for one of the occasions when Victorio was captured. Various measures of leadership that portray respect and disrespect based on the human character and on racial prejudices are abundant within this film.
