As part of the overall effort to refocus
professional values within the CF, the Canadian Forces Leadership
Institute (CFLI) is breaking new ground by creating capstone Profession
of Arms and Leadership manuals. The manuals express the vision of
Defence Strategy 2020, Officership 2020, and NCM Corps 2020.
The Profession of Arms Manual describes
the Canadian military ethos and the profession of arms in Canada
for the benefit of CF members and the Canadian public. It presents
the theoretical and philosophical underpinnings of the profession,
while showing how the military serves Canada and Canada's national
interests.
CFLI is also creating a Leadership Manual,
which analyzes past leadership lessons and applies them to contemporary
realities, in order to create a re-defined and clarified CF leadership
doctrine.
