In celebration of Canadian Forces Base Borden's 90th Anniversary, the base will host an Armed Forces Day and Air Show on Saturday & Sunday, 24 & 25 June 2006. In addition to the large number of military ground displays and special events, there will also be an air show featuring the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, CF-18 Hornet Fighter Jet, The CF Parachute Team - SkyHawks, CH-146 Griffon Helicopter, Vintage War Birds, Bill Carter Solo Aerobatics & Inverted Ribbon Cut, Swift Magic Team Aerobatics, Julie Clark American Aerobatics, Carol Pilon Third Strike Wing Walking. There will also be a "Kiddie Commando Course" for the younger enthusiasts, a Tutor simulator, and the 400 Squadron Pipes & Drums will be playing.
Gates and exhibits will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., "Rain or Shine". With admission at $10 for adults, free for seniors 65 & over and children 12 & under, this is an exciting family activity for all ages. Military personnel in uniform will be admitted free, as will Cadets, Guides, and Scouts in uniform. DND Civilian employees may also be admitted free, with photo i.d. Parking is available and is free, although a donation of one non-perishable food item is appreciated. A shuttle bus will be available to assist people in travelling between parking and the display area.

Of course, no airshow is complete without a hangar party! Join us Saturday, June 24th at Dyte Hall from 7-11pm. Refreshments will be available via a cash bar, but admission and door prize tickets are free. This public, family event will have lots of door prizes, plus this is your chance to get autographs from the Snowbirds and other performers!
