Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) VANOC is the not-for-profit corporation responsible for the planning, organizing and staging of the 2010 Winter Games. |
Province of British Columbia
British Columbia is the host province of the 2010 Winter Games and contributes matching funds with the Government of Canada to Games infrastructure and legacies. British Columbia
is also responsible for any Games deficit. |
City of Vancouver
The City of Vancouver will host the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. |
Resort Municipality of Whistler
The Resort Municipality of Whistler will host the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. |
City of Richmond
The City of Richmond will host the Speed Skating competitions at the Richmond Oval. |
Canadian Olympic Committee (COC)
The COC is responsible for advancing the goals of the Olympic Movement at a national level. It organizes and prepares the teams going to the Olympic Games and is directly
involved in the organization of the Olympic Games when they are held in Canada. |
Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC)
The CPC is responsible for advancing the goals of the Paralympic Movement at a national level. It organizes and prepares the teams going to the Paralympic Games and is directly
involved in the organization of these Games when they are held in Canada. |
Four Host First Nations Society (FHFNS)
The Lil’Wat, Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations will host the 2010 Winter Games on their shared traditional territories. The FHFNS works with the Games
Partners to ensure that their Nations are directly involved in the planning, staging and hosting of the Games and to advocate the participation of Aboriginal peoples in the
2010 Winter Games. |

International Olympic Committee (IOC)
The IOC is the franchise holder and governs all aspects of the Olympic Movement including the selection of Host Cities. They also dictate requirements for organizing the Games,
including the sport program. |
International Paralympic Committee (IPC)
The IPC is the franchise holder and governs all aspects of the Paralympic Movement and participates in the IPC process of evaluation and selection of Host Cities. The IPC
also defines the requirements for hosting the Paralympic Games, including the sport program. |
