VMC- Agora Research Initiative

Become a CHIN member and participate in the Virtual Museum of Canada (VMC)!

The call for proposals issued on October 17, 2006 closed Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

The VMC - Agora Research Initiative (ARI) is open to all public, not-for-profit museums that have demonstrated their commitment to work collaboratively with colleague across the country by becoming contributing or basic members of the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN); and to organizations that  have an ongoing role in representing museums or managing several institutions and that are making proposals on behalf of multiple museums.

Prior to preparing a proposal, consult the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) and ARI Guidelines, which provide information about the objectives, as well as the list of criteria for investment and eligible and non-eligible costs.

Also, consult the Guidelines for Developing Learning Objects, and the Learning Object Input Tool prior to completing the proposal form for the production of ARI content. All documentation must be submitted, along with the proposal form, in an electronic format that is easily accessible on the Web.

Following the selection of proposals for investment, ARI contracts or Joint Project Agreements will be prepared between the institution and CHIN. Please note that notifications will be sent out as soon as possible in February 2007 and that successful applicants must complete their proposed productions by June 15, 2007.
