Permanent Full-Time Position - Position Number 10321

The Library, Archives and Documentation Services Division is currently seeking a dynamic individual who will, under the direction of the Head, Archives and Records, develop and implement within the CMCC (Canadian Museum of Civilization (CMC) and Canadian War Museum (CWM)) procedures that are consistent with generally recognized records management standards and CMCC policies; assist the Branch in developing, implementing and coordinating the CMCC’s information management projects; provide user training on records management policies, procedures and systems; develop guidelines for the retention, disposition and sorting of the Corporation’s electronic record resources; develop and update the Corporation’s Classification Guide as well as the retention schedule; supervise employees of the LADS records management service; reply to information requests relating to electronic records management; and perform other related duties.

As the ideal candidate, you hold a University degree in Information Sciences, specialization in records management, archival management or information systems.

You possess knowledge:
 Of standards and practices in records management (paper and electronic) and archival management;
 Of database management systems, records management software;
 Of electronic data migration or transfer procedures;
 Of Microsoft Suite software (Word, Excel, MSAccess, PowerPoint;
 Of records classification, preservation, retention schedules;
 Of Web language (XML, SGML, HTML), metadata (Dublin Core, Common Look and Feel/NSI) standards;
 Of federal or provincial laws relating to electronic information management, access to information and personal information protection.

You have one (1) to three (3) years experience:
 In administrative and/or historical records management (electronic and paper format);
 In records database administration;
 In employee supervision;
 In electronic records management.
