Capitalization of Data in the PARIS System
In providing guidelines for the capitalization of terms in collections databases, this paper aims to improve consistency in cataloguing. Guidelines are given for personal names and titles, geographic, religious, and scientific names, cultures, languages, corporate bodies, documents, events, medals, publications, brand names, courses of study, time divisions, currencies, weights and measures, geological and astronomical terms, and environmental phenomena. The appendix includes cross-references to CHIN Humanities and Natural Sciences Data Dictionary fields used in Artefacts Canada. (Bilingual format, 34pp.)
