PHIL

I graduated with a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Université Laval in 2004. After completing my degree, I held an internship position in Washington D.C. with a public affairs firm specializing in Canadian-American business issues. In September 2004 I joined the Policy Group after successfully competing in the Policy Officer Recruitment Programme.

I was first assigned to the Directorate of Public Policy where I was given responsibility for administering the Security and Defence Forum Special Projects Fund. I also conducted recruitment seminars at a number of Canadian universities, which gave me the opportunity to share ideas on national defence and security issues with students from across the country. In September 2005 I was assigned to the Directorate of Parliamentary Affairs where I am now responsible for preparing Question Period notes for the Minister of National Defence on issues such as the procurement process for military equipment. These responsibilities allow me to work directly with senior military officers and Assistant Deputy Ministers on a daily basis.

Moving to Ottawa to be a part of the Policy Group has proven to be an excellent choice. I now belong to a dynamic team where I have many opportunities to do different kinds of work, preparing me for a unique and varied career in the future.
