In fulfilling its mandate the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) serves one of the most diverse cultural, racial, linguistic and Aboriginal populations in Canada.  Through its programs and services, the OAC supports artists, organizations and communities within Ontario and welcomes all forms of artistic expression and practice.

Purpose: To encourage artists and arts organizations from all arts disciplines to work with communities and/or trade unions through a collaborative creative process. Grants are designed to integrate the arts into community life through artistic projects.

Eligibility: This program is open to Ontario-based, individual professional artists, groups of artists, community organizations, arts organizations and trade unions. Projects may take place in various communities or workplaces.

Community Arts Workbook...Another Vital Link: A handbook for anyone interested in or wanting to become involved with community arts. The workbook follows up on the important issues and themes explored at the conference, Vital Links - Enriching Communities Through Art and Art Through Communities. Examples of community arts projects from Canada, the U.S., Britain and Australia are included in the workbook. Available on the OAC website at www.arts.on.ca/English/General.html
