S.S. Keno National
Historic Site of Canada commemorates the hundreds of riverboats
that plied the waterways of Yukon. It was part of a fleet which
played a major part in the history of the territory. Without the
river boats, the gold of the Klondike and the silver, lead and
zinc of the Mayo district would have remained in the hills for
at least another half century, and the development of the Canadian
West and North would have suffered in consequence.
S.S. Keno National Historic Site is one of the National
Historic Sites of Canada in the Klondike
