To get to Beaubears Island Shipbuilding National Historic Site of Canada, J. Leonard O'Brien Memorial, turn off Route 126 Hwy in the former village of Nelson. Visit the Interpretive Center administered by the Friends of Beaubears Island Inc. at 35, St. Patrick's Drive, located directly across from the island. ServicesInterpretation Center Interpretive Island Tours Access for Persons with Special NeedsAccess for persons with special needs is limited at Boishébert and Beaubears Island Shipbuilding National Historic Sites of Canada. The Province of New Brunswick administers Wilsons Point and some visitor facilities are currently being developed in cooperation with non-profit groups. Access to Beaubears Island is by private boat charter. Prior to visiting, it is recommended that visitors contact the charter operator of the Friends of Beaubears Island Inc. - (506) 622-8526.
