Heritage Records Manager

The Heritage Records Manager is part of the team that includes museum curatorial and educational programming staff. The candidate will have a combination of education and experience that reflects a passion for history and a strong commitment to ensuring community access to the organizations heritage records. The Heritage Records Manager will have the opportunity to manage a significant collection of maps, photographs and private, community and government records and will be required to contribute to exhibit, publication, education and research projects.

A new expanded archives, as part of a new community cultural centre, is planned with a move expected to take place before 2010. The Heritage Records Manager will play a key role in facilitating the planning and configuration of the new archives.

This position will appeal to a person with a background in history who enjoys working with people and documents. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills are required. The ability to balance several projects concurrently is expected. Resumes should include education, experience and references.
