Dance your way through summer

Sir Wilfrid Laurier National Historic Site of Canada maintains the tradition. Saturday and Sunday afternoons, the historic house serves as a backdrop for an assortment of colourful characters from the immediate neighbourhood. A hospitable bunch, they will accord you all the honours of the house on the occasion of your visit. In this warm atmosphere, you will discover the resourcefulness and imaginativeness deployed by our ancestors in their ongoing quest for a softer, more comfortable life.

2006 Activity Schedule

From June 17 to September 3
Enjoy our animated visits, daily, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

July 1
Canada Day

Period animation, face painting, a family scavenger hunt and candle-making and a puppet show will amuse young and old. A special cake will be served to visitors in celebration of the 138th anniversary of the Confederation.
All activities are free of charge for the day.

From July 2 until September 3
The Perfect Settler

Theatrical animation presented Saturdays and Sundays from 1 :30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Costumed guide-interpreters will recreate the traditional way of life in the 19th Century Quebec. Settlers from the area will share advice with you on clearing the land and setting up your new farm.

Lanaudière Heritage Festival*

Presented by Ville de Saint-Lin―Laurentides, these activities represent a unique opportunity to discover the history and cultural riches of the Lanaudière region. On the menu will be the Centre regional d'archives de Lanaudière, the Association des artisans de la ceinture fléchée, story-telling and music.

August 6
Reapers and Rigadoons*

Presented by Ville de Saint-Lin―Laurentides, food, dance, and fairwill make this the most varied of days for visitors. The site will host a small country market offering products from the Lanaudière region. Between each performance of a folk dance company, historical yet humorous theatrical sketches will entertain young and old alike.

August 21
Village Festival*

Presented by Ville de Saint-Lin―Laurentides, in collaboration with the Saint-Lin—Laurentides chamber of commerce , the annual village festival remains a family event you won't want to miss. A corn roast and a concert featuring traditional folk music are all on the menu.

This summer, fill your lungs with some fresh Lanaudière air while enjoying a wide range of activities!

*Specials activities are free, there only an entry fees for an animated visit of the Historic House.
