Activities
Spend Sundays exploring Amerindian culture at Cartier-Brébeuf Park!
Every Sunday from July 2 to August 6, you are invited to discover the many facets of Amerindian culture! From 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., you can sample a variety of traditional dishes, as well as discover the Iroquoian longhouse and garden.

- July 2nd –
The “Three Sisters” – Iroquoian Horticulture:
- Demonstration of corn husk mask making and Amerindian basket making with the artisan Claudette Beauparlant
- Sampling of “Sun Soup” and corn on the cob roasted under charcoal
- Activities for children
- Presentation in traditional Amerindian dress
- July 9 th –
Iroquoian Fishing:
- Demonstration of bone hook making and rope making with the archaeologist Yves Chrétien
- Sampling of eel and mackerel
- Activities for children
- Presentation in traditional Amerindian dress
- July 16 th –
Traditional Iroquoian Dress:
- Demonstration of Amerindian clothing fabrication and jewellery making with Anne Archambault (Mi’gmaq nation)
- Sampling of banique bread cooked under the sand
- Activities for children

- July 23 th -
Iroquoian Games and Entertainment:
- Songs, tales and legends with Sylvain Rivard
- Sampling of bannock bread cooked under the sand and a hot maple beverage
- Activities for children
- Presentation in traditional Amerindian dress
- July 30 rd -
Traditional Iroquoian Dress:
- Demonstration of jewellery making and Amerindian ceremonial accessory making with Mr. Michel Savard (Huron nation)
- Sampling of bannock bread cooked under the sand
- Activities for children
- Presentation in traditional Amerindian dress
- August 6 th -
Iroquoian Hunting:
- Demonstration of traditional techniques: venison cooking with Mr. Roland Sioui (Huron nation)
- Sampling of sagamité
- Activities for children
- Presentation in traditional Amerindian dress
AND...... In addition to these activities, do not miss the two festivals:
Saturday, August 12 th - Cartier Festival
- All-day family festival with an outdoor concert in the evening.
- Activities, games and fun for the whole family!
In the event of rain, this festival will take place the following day, August 13.
Saturday, October 14 th - Pumpkin Festival
- Grand harvest festival from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Visit to the three sisters’ garden. Activities, games and fun for the whole family!
In the event of rain, this festival will take place the following day, October 15.
