• June 1 to August 31:
  Open daily 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• September 1 to October 31:
  Open Saturday to Wednesday
• November 1 to May 31:
  Call for details.

Please allow one hour for your visit to view displays, enjoy a video presentation and explore the restored Birthplace.

How to get there

Our site is located in Gravenhurst, Ontario, 150 kilometers north of Toronto on highway number 11. Travel north from Toronto on highway 400, about 45 minutes from the 401, to Barrie. At Barrie, take highway number 11, about another 45 minutes—through Orillia—to Gravenhurst. Exit at Gravenhurst and follow the blue “Bethune Historic Site” signs to our Visitor Centre at 297 John Street North.

If you are coming from the north, take highways number 11 or 169, south into Gravenhurst and follow the blue “Bethune Historic Site” signs.
