Guided Walking Tours

Accompanied by a guide-interpreter, trace the history of the different fortification projects and defence strategies from the 17th to the 19th century while enjoying the spectacular panoramic views of the city. Walk along the ramparts and the heights of Québec, admire the river while crossing Dufferin Terrace, cross the Saint-Louis Gate and learn the why of the Saint-Louis posterns " en chicane". You will be overwhelmed by the imposing nature of the walls and the width of the ditches and impressed when you visit the underground blockhouse which still has its cannon embrasures. Length : 90 minutes

« Québec, defensive city »

This walking tour will take you through three centuries of history, introducing you to the secret story of Québec City through the evolution of its defense system. Stroll through the streets and parks of Old Québec to better understand how the various walls that surround the city developed, and what events led to their evolution. Length : 90 minutes
