The Chambly Canal runs the whole length of Route 223. By Car:
From Montreal, take Highway 10, exit 22. By Bus:From Downtown Terminus (Montreal) or Longueuil Terminus to Chambly:The Conseil intermunicipal de transport Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan (CITCRC) offers a public transit service from Montreal/Longueuil to Chambly. There is a bus stop close to the canal at the corner of De Bourgogne and Du Fort streets. From downtown Montreal to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu:The Groupe Viens Inc, offers a public transit service from Montreal to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. By Bicycle:The Chambly Canal cycling trail follows alongside the canal from Chambly to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. This multipurpose path is part of La Route Verte and is connected to the Montérégiade II, the Montée du Fort-Chambly and the Vallée-des-forts cycling trails.
