National Military Cemetery celebrates third anniversary
The National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces,
the final resting place for former members of the CF and the Canadian
Merchant Navy, will be celebrating its 3rd anniversary June 28,
and you are invited.
The Ceremonial Guard and the Band of the
Ceremonial Guard will provide the colour and the musical backdrop
for the afternoon’s events, which will include the unveiling
and dedication of the Tri-Service Monument, a three-sided pillar
bearing the badges of the Navy, Air Force and Army, and commemorative
verses. Representatives of DND/CF, other government departments
and the civilian community will be in attendance.
The activities will begin at 2 p.m., June 28, in Ottawa.
The NMC is located within the grounds of Beechwood Cemetery, off
Beechwood Avenue (near St. Laurent Boulevard and Hemlock Road, north
of Montreal Road).
