- 10/16/2007 - Sailors From HMCS Winnipeg Visit Namesake City
The Executive Officer of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Winnipeg, Lt.-Cmdr. Tim Kerr, and 19 members of the ship’s company will visit Winnipeg and various communities in Manitoba from Oct. 21 to 28. The aim of the visit is to raise awareness of the Navy and raise money for the ship’s local charity, the Fire Fighters Burn Fund.
- 10/15/2007 - HMCS Regina Returns From The Americas
Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Regina returns today after 62 days away from home. Regina is returning from PANAMAX 2007, an annual joint multinational exercise. PANAMAX 2007 involved multinational forces cooperating in a crisis response scenario to counter a maritime-based threat to the Panama Canal, through which a significant portion of the world’s trade passes daily. Exercise forces deployed on both sides of the Isthmus of Panama and conducted a range of joint coalition activities including command and control, surveillance and monitoring, and naval boarding operations.
- 8/8/2007 - HMCS Regina to Depart for Americas
Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship Regina leaves Saturday morning for the waters off the Republic of Panama, where she will join up with other navies for PANAMAX 2007, a joint multinational exercise.
- 8/8/2007 - Memorial Parade Remembers Peacekeeping Losses
The 15th Annual Peacekeepers Memorial Day Service will be held at the B.C. Legislature Grounds tomorrow at 7 p.m. Members of Peacekeeping Veterans Associations and other veterans' groups will lead the parade joined by a platoon from Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt.
