  • 4/24/2007 - Navy Hosts Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal Exercise
    Fleet Diving Unit (Pacific) will host Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams from the Canadian Navy, Army and Air Force in Exercise DESERT RAT from April 15th to 27th.  The joint exercise, which will be held at the Albert Head and Mary Hill training areas, will equip EOD teams with the latest tactics, techniques and procedures learned from operations in Afghanistan.

  • 3/29/2007 - Canada and France Mark the 90th Anniversary of Vimy Victory
    The Consul General of France in Vancouver will join the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, the Minister of Veterans Affairs, the Canadian Forces and Veterans at the B.C. Legislature on Sunday at 1 p.m. to mark the 90th anniversary of the World War One battle for Vimy Ridge.

  • 3/14/2007 - HMCS Ottawa Returns From Persian Gulf Operations
    Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship Ottawa will return to her home port of Esquimalt at 9 a.m. Saturday after a six-month, 48,000-nautical mile journey to the Persian Gulf for Operation Altair.  With a CH-124 Sea King detachment from 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron (Pat Bay), the ship left Esquimalt September 10 to join a US Navy Expeditionary Strike Group and work with other naval forces in the campaign against terrorism.

  • 3/6/2007 - Sailors From HMCS Whitehorse Visit Namesake City
    The Commanding Officer of HMCS Whitehorse, Commander James K. Sprang, and 14 members of the ship’s company will visit Whitehorse from March 7 to 12 to build on the good relationship already shared between the ship and her namesake city.

  • 2/12/2007 - Canadian Forces and RCMP Combine to Open Legislature
    A ceremonial Guard of Honour, comprised of members of the Canadian Forces and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, is at the centre of the ceremony to open the British Columbia Parliament tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.  The guard is supported by an artillery saluting battery from 5th (BC) Field Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery and the Naden Band of Maritime Forces Pacific.
