The publications of the ACA are the medium of communication inside and outside the profession. They provide a forum for debate and discussion; present the fruits of archival research; embody statements of professional policy and standards; provide practical expert advice for archival practice; provide a means of exchanging news and information; and above all, present the public face of archivists.
The ACA supports three types of publications:
- Regular publications, such as the scholarly journal Archivaria and the newsletter ACA Bulletin;
- Occasional publications, dealing with particular topics or issues (in pamphlet, book or other formats such as videos);
- Occasional committee and executive publications of policies and standards.
The Standing Committee on Publications oversees all ACA publication activities.
The ACA welcomes and accepts a limited number of advertisements for its periodical publications: Archivaria, Members Directory, and ACA Bulletin. Details for each publication are included on the Advertising Rates form below. Firms interested in placing one or more advertisements are encouraged to contact the ACA Secretariat at the coordinates shown on the Rates form.
