Information Category

The Spectrum, Information Technologies and Telecommunications Sector of Industry Canada is responsible for the development of a wide range of policies, strategies, regulations, procedures and information which help foster a competitive, knowledge-based Canadian economy, and build a fair, efficient and competitive marketplace. This category includes information on Canada's e-business strategy, privacy protection, Internet issues and access for Canadians, regulations pertaining to the management of Canada's radiocommunication spectrum and broadcasting, national and international telecommunications policies and negotiations, and, international issues and Committees in which the Sector actively participates.

Services Category

This category includes links to a wide range of services and programs provided to help foster community development, increase access to education and employment opportunities, promote health awareness for Canadians and to develop and promote Canada's heritage. Many of these programs and initiatives are provided in partnership with a wide range of our clients, including industry associations, service providers, licensees, Government and private organizations. It also features links to information and interactive, web-based services including the certification of radio terminal equipment and standards, support provided to the Information Technology industries, and a broad range of radio licensing services, including spectrum auctions. It is important to note that many of these initiatives have been developed in partnership with our clients.
