Honours and Awards - The Honours and Awards Chart has been revised. Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada, is pleased to announce today that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has approved the creation of the Peace Officer Exemplary Service Medal.

Heritage & Traditions - National Inventory of Canadian Military Memorials. The database has been updated to include nearly 2 000 new memorials. To date, the database contains over 8,000 images associated with over 5 100 individual Canadian military memorials.
With your help, the Department of National Defence's Directorate of History and Heritage (DHH) and the Organization of Military Museums of Canada (OMMC) hopes to continue the search for military memorials from across the country.

Honours and Awards - The Honours and Awards Chart has been revised. Specifically, new ribbons and medals have been added. All information has been revised for all corresponding awards/medals. All medal images will be replaced once they have been finalized.

Publications - The Publications section has been revised. Specifically, A Sketch Account Of Aboriginal Peoples In The Canadian Military has been added to the Online/Downloads section.

"The story of this singular society is like a chain stretching from the past into the future and formed with links of their experiences in both peace and war. I do not wish to attempt to tell over again the valiant history of Canada's Aboriginal peoples. What I think needs to be said is that it is imperative that the record of the loyal services of Aboriginal peoples be preserved for all time. We can only foster cross-cultural awareness through knowledge and understanding."
