2005 National Winner

I’ve learned tons from the tours that we had and they were all spectacular. Everywhere that we went, we were very well taken care of.  Thank you very much for everything!  This would definitely be an experience that I will never forget!

The trip was wonderful!  Everywhere we went, we were treated like kings.  It’s the kind of experience that everyone should have the opportunity to share in.  Although our trip was short, we were able to tell others about our province and to make new friends.  This trip will stay with us forever...  Not to mention that there were so many very interesting things to see and do!  Canadian Heritage staff were very kind and very helpful.  My thanks to all of them for this unforgettable experience.  I urge all schools to take part in this great learning opportunity!

Being allowed to go to Ottawa on Canada Day has been a great privilege.  I visited many historical places and learned a lot more about our fascinating country.  Meeting other artists from around the country has been a great experience that will forever be embedded into my memories.

The trip was amazing!  From the minute my family and I arrived in the capital we were surrounded by the lively hospitality of the city. Each event was very well organized and interesting.  The Minister and guides were so charismatic and attentive that I can honestly say that this is the best prize I have ever had!

The trip was fun and meeting the other winners was worthwhile. Since there’s only three days you have to take every chance to meet everyone.

The trip to Ottawa has been a great experience.  Taking part in the poster contest was a lot of fun and gave me the chance to meet fellow artists from across Canada. All the tours taken were a lot of fun and gave me a lot of insight into Canada’s history. Thank you!

This experience was fantastic and is one that I will never forget.  The nation’s capital is full of continuous beauty in its natural landscape, architecture of the many buildings, and of course its people.  The various sites and tours were wonderful as well as very informative.  I had a great time!  Thank you to the Celebrate Canada for the amazing experience!

Coming to Ottawa for the 2005 Poster Challenge taught me a lot about Ottawa and some history that I never even learned in school.  I met a lot of nice people and had the greatest time on July 1st (Canada Day).  I got to see performers like Kalan Porter and Jeremy Fisher!  I even got the honour to meet the Minister of Canadian Heritage, Liza Frulla and Prime Minister Paul Martin.  I’m very happy I came!

I have had a wonderful time here in Ottawa.  My favourite places were the National Gallery and the Parliament Buildings.  My favourite piece of artwork was the big baby head.

For the past few days, my experience in Ottawa has been absolutely wonderful.  I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many people and got a chance to see all the great attractions here in Ottawa.  My first visit here has left a lasting impression in my mind.  I felt a great sense of pride as I celebrated Canada Day with thousands of Canadians on Parliament Hill.  I look forward to visiting Ottawa again in the future.  Last but not least, I want to say a big “Thank You” to everyone who made this program possible!!

Going to Ottawa was awesome!  It was one of the best experiences of my life!  The sight-seeing, the museums and of course the shopping!  The people and tour guides were excellent.  Sitting in the Prime Minister’s chair was cool, maybe I’ll be Prime Minister one day!

I liked the trip but it was too long at times standing up.  But the trip and service was awesome.

I found the Canadian Heritage representatives to be very helpful, entertaining, funny, and quite knowledgeable.  It was such a pleasure to meet my fellow winners/participants who were all extremely kind and exceptionally talented.  I look forward to keeping in contact with them and looking back on the many fond memories I’ve made here.  I encourage youth all over the country to become involved in this contest and would recommend this experience to anyone!  (Can I come again???).
